If this is the new Ferrari Dino, I really like it

Kinja'd!!!

I’d have this over a 911 turbo

EDIT: I’m not seeing the 488 Scuderia claims, no hotter edition has ever had this much body reconstruction plus the intakes look smaller than a 488's and the whole car seems smaller/stubbier. Reminds of an Evora and 4C cross

Or 488 Scuderia, because of the stripes.

Kinda just looks like a 488 with a weird body kit

I heard that this was a prototype mule for the 488 Speciale...

Very Evora looking beltline and glass

I’m with everyone else, this has 488 Speciale/Scuderia/GTO (doubt that one) written all over it

That greenhouse is way too “Evora” and doesn’t fit the rest of the car. Looks like an odd rendering.

That's what makes me think Dino, it looks stubbier and no speciale version has ever looked so radically different from the original.

There will never be an entry level (lol) sub-six figure 911 fighting Ferrari. It’s not happening. The best we can hope for is something from Maser, but that’s not saying much. Judging from their most recent of offerings, it would be inferior to a Ferrari in every respect and probably not fit to deliver the 911's racing tires, never mind competing with it.

Why not? They’ve been talking about resurrecting the Dino name for years. They supposedly have a 503hp TT V6 for the Alfa Romeo, I’d love to have that in the back of a 4C based chassis.

I’d be flabbergasted if they don’t respond with this as a 570S fighter either

Is it kinda funny that I see a little of the new ford gt in the roofline in that second pic?

You’re all wrong, this is a one-off car based on the 488 GTB done by Ferrari’s Special Projects division.

There WILL be a new Dino, coming by the end of the decade: http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-c…

A Baby Ferrari would be that in name only. It may be smaller or slightly less capable than it’s siblings but it’s not going to run less than $175k, minimum.

Ferrari today is all about exclusivity and wealth. A car with Ferrari’s pedigree and a plebian price tag is a fantasy that the current iteration of the company will never, ever, ever make a reality. Perhaps another MR car from Alfa or Maser will, but like the 8C was, it will be severly crippled in some way to keep it from being even remotely competitive with a Ferrari, which would also keep it from being remotely competitive with the 911, which is so good today that it can be compared to a Ferrari and come out ahead.

...actually, a base 911 is pretty much everything a Dino would be if it were real, so just get that.

I think it is a “Dino” too. I honestly think Ferrari is going to replace the California with a coupe/spider model to better match the brand and the Macca/Turbo. A hard top convertible is pretty silly for Ferrari with the competition changing. Makes much more sense to have a 590hp, TTV8 sportscar for just under $200k.

Sportscars: GTB Dino and 488 GTB

Tourers: GTC4 Lusso and F12 Successor (which will probably get some GT_4 nomenclature too since it will probably be AWD).

Thats what I was thinking, that this is a one-off 488. Doesn’t look that much agressive compared to the standard 488 or that much different to be a new model.

Ah! That makes sense! I hope they use this as a design study, I really like the rear end.

Previous SP cars have influenced production Ferraris, so there’s a good chance that elements from this one will show up in future cars.
